The Cundinamarca Open brings a WTA 125 event to Sopó, Colombia, on outdoor clay. It is the second of two Colombian WTA 125s in consecutive weeks, after the Cali Open, and the second stop on a run of South American clay events that takes the tier’s lower-ranked players through Chile, Argentina and Ecuador before the season ends. The WTA lists the 2026 tournament under its sponsored name, the DIRECTV Open.
The week overlaps with the WTA Finals at Indian Wells, and the player list mixes regulars of the South American swing with former top players working their way back, among them Bianca Andreescu and Sloane Stephens.
Dates and Schedule
The 2026 tournament runs from Monday 9 November to Saturday 14 November. Qualifying is played before the main draw starts. The WTA confirms final draws three days before play begins, and an order of play is published daily once the draw is out.
Draw and Format
The main draw has 32 singles players and eight doubles teams. Singles places go to direct acceptances on ranking, qualifiers, wild cards and, where used, a special exempt; how to read a tennis draw explains each label. Under the 2026 WTA Rulebook, every WTA 125 has four regular main-draw wild cards, and a qualifying draw of eight or 16 has two qualifying wild cards. An eight-team doubles draw has one wild card, four advance entries and three places filled on site.
Players who withdraw before the draw are replaced from the alternates list. A withdrawal after the draw opens a place for a lucky loser from qualifying, and a withdrawal once the opponent is known is recorded as a walkover.
Ranking Points
The champion earns 125 WTA ranking points, the figure that gives the tier its name. The 2026 WTA ranking point chart for a WTA 125 with a 32-player main draw:
| Round | Singles | Doubles (8 teams) |
|---|---|---|
| Winner | 125 | 125 |
| Finalist | 81 | 81 |
| Semifinalist | 49 | 49 |
| Quarterfinalist | 27 | 1 |
| Round of 16 | 15 | — |
| Round of 32 | 1 | — |
| Qualifier | 6 | — |
| Qualifying second round (16-player qualifying only) | 4 | — |
| Qualifying first round | 1 | — |
A qualifier who wins a main-draw match adds main-draw points for the furthest round reached to her qualifying points. A qualifier who loses her first main-draw match keeps only the qualifier points. In doubles, with no first round below the quarterfinals, a quarterfinal loss is worth one point.
Prize Money
Total prize money is $115,000, the same commitment as the Cali, Colina and Buenos Aires WTA 125s. The per-round breakdown has not been published. Late withdrawals and on-site pull-outs carry their own prize-money rules, set out in WTA prize money withdrawals explained.
The South American Clay Swing
Sopó sits in a five-week run of WTA 125 clay events in South America:
- Cali Open, Cali, Colombia: 2-7 November
- Cundinamarca Open, Sopó, Colombia: 9-14 November
- LP Open by IND, Colina, Chile: 16-22 November
- IEB+ Argentina Open, Buenos Aires, Argentina: 23-29 November (see our Buenos Aires WTA 125 guide)
- Quito Open, Quito, Ecuador: week of 30 November
Each offers 125 points to the champion, which makes the swing a late-season route into or back toward the top 100 for players outside the tour’s main draws. The men’s equivalent tier is covered in ATP Challenger Tour explained.
