Erste Bank Open Guide — Vienna Dates, Field, Points and Past Champions

The Erste Bank Open is an ATP 500 tournament played indoors on hard courts at the Wiener Stadthalle in Vienna. The 2026 edition runs from Saturday, 24 October to Sunday, 1 November, according to the tournament, the same week as the Swiss Indoors Basel. Jannik Sinner is the defending champion.

Dates and Schedule

The tournament lists its 2026 dates as 24 October to 1 November. The 2025 edition ran from 20 to 26 October, Monday to Sunday, according to the ATP, so the two extra days at the front of this year’s window fall on the opening weekend. The order of play is published by the tournament once the draw is made.

Vienna and Basel are the two ATP 500 events of the European indoor season, and they share a week, so players choose between them. The season then moves to the Paris Masters and the Nitto ATP Finals in Turin.

Points

As an ATP 500, Vienna awards 500 ranking points to the singles champion. The full breakdown by round, and how the tier fits into the calendar, is in ATP 500 explained.

The 2026 Field

The tournament website lists these players for 2026: Jannik Sinner, Alexander Zverev, Daniil Medvedev, Flavio Cobolli, Frances Tiafoe, Alex de Minaur, Jakub Mensik, Learner Tien, Tommy Paul, Brandon Nakashima, Luciano Darderi, Francisco Cerundolo, Andrey Rublev, Lorenzo Musetti, Karen Khachanov, Alexander Blockx, Tomas Martin Etcheverry, Ignacio Buse, Arthur Fery, Matteo Arnaldi, Cameron Norrie, Daniel Merida, Tallon Griekspoor, Grigor Dimitrov and Jurij Rodionov.

The tournament notes that the players shown are for illustrative purposes and that participation is subject to ATP rules. Sinner has not played since winning Wimbledon in July and withdrew from the Shanghai Masters on 3 October, still recovering from the knee injury that has kept him off the tour.

The Defending Champion

Sinner beat Zverev 3-6, 6-3, 7-5 in last year’s final, cutting through cramp to win it, according to the ATP. It was his second Vienna title, after 2023, and his fourth title of the 2025 season. He did not drop a set before the final, and the win made him the third member of the ATP No. 1 Club to win Vienna twice, after Roger Federer and Andy Murray. Zverev won the tournament in 2021.
