How to report an error
Email editorial@globaltennisnews.com with the URL of the article, a description of what you believe is wrong, and any source or documentation that supports the correction. Reports are welcome from anyone, including readers, players and their teams, tournaments and other journalists.
How we review reports
Every report is reviewed by the editor against the original sourcing for the article. We aim to respond within two business days. If the error is confirmed, the article is corrected. If the article stands, we reply and explain why.
How corrections appear
Factual errors, including a wrong score, result, date, ranking, name, statistic or quote attribution, are corrected in the text. A dated correction note is added at the end of the article stating what was wrong and what the article now says. For example: Correction, September 11, 2026: An earlier version of this article gave the wrong score for the second set. It was 6-4, not 6-3.
Where an error changes the substance of a story, the correction note appears at the top of the article instead.
Spelling, grammar and formatting fixes that do not change meaning are made without a note.
Clarifications
When an article is accurate but could reasonably be misread, we may add a clarification. Clarifications are dated and labeled the same way as corrections.
Updates to developing stories
Stories about withdrawals, draws, schedules and other developing news may be updated as new information arrives. Updates are labeled with the date and are distinct from corrections, which fix something we got wrong.
Photographs and captions
A caption that misidentifies a player, event, surface or year is treated as a factual error and corrected under this policy.
Removal requests
We correct articles rather than remove them. Unpublishing is considered only for legal reasons or where an article puts someone’s safety at risk.
